Raleigh, N.C. — There’s now another place to take kids when their fever spikes outside of normal office hours.
WakeMed Children’s and PM Pediatrics have teamed up to open a third pediatric urgent care office. It’s at 8841 Six Forks Rd. in north Raleigh and joins other locations in Morrisville and Cary.
The location, staffed with board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and pediatricians, among others, will treat both children and young adults with the convenience of daily nighttime hours.
They can get treatment for a variety of illnesses and injuries, including fever, infections, wounds requiring stitches, fracture management and respiratory care, according to a press release. The practice also treats dehydration, which is particularly important when treating heat-related illnesses as we move into the summer months. The location has onsite digital X-ray, EKG, laboratory, and COVID testing.
“Our focus is to make sure the pediatric services that families need most are available and easily accessible across Wake County,” said Dr. Bill Lagarde, executive medical director, WakeMed Children’s, in the press release. “We are very pleased to extend this service to families in northern Wake County. Our locations in Morrisville and Cary have been incredibly well received and are a great complement to the comprehensive care and services offered by WakeMed Children’s, from primary care and pediatric specialists to a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department, Children’s Hospital and Level IV NICU.”
