In the rat race of survival where stress rules the roost, sleeplessness turns out to be one of the common conditions. A national sleep survey reveals that 40% of respondents had sleep deficiency. There are many stressors we face in modern life, which can trigger a fight-or-flight response and prolonged exposure to this stress without relaxation results in shorter sleep duration and poorer quality sleep.

Announcing the launch of ‘Blissful Sleep’, Ram Shrivastava, Director – Marketing, Maharishi Ayurveda said, “Various stresses, hectic schedule and erratic lifestyle have been bringing sleep disorders. While a proper sound sleep is essential for healthy living, ensuring a healthy body and mind. This product – ‘Blissful Sleep’ is a combination of herbs, which will not only help in curing sleep disorders but also reduce the time taken in sleep, thereby helping in the treatment of insomnia. The launch of this product is a step forward in the direction of launching the herbal-based product in sync with the age-old knowledge of Ayurveda and the modern-day convenient compositions. We believe that this product will be a leap in the direction of curing sleep-related disorders.”
Blissful sleep helps balance Vata and Pitta. These are the Ayurvedic bio forces/ factors which shorten sleep and inability to go to sleep. Hence working at the root level of the Sleep problems.

Science behind the formula
A clinical study conducted on the ‘Blissful Sleep’ by the Department of Psychiatry, University of California at San Diego, USA reveals that the combination of herbs, in addition to targeting insomnia, contains herbs to minimize or eliminate the potential side effects that may accompany the benefits of the active herb(s). The findings of this study confirm previous evidence of the effectiveness of valerian in alleviating insomnia. In addition, the absence of negative side effects commonly seen with prescribed hypnotics suggests that traditional herbal supplements may be a suitable alternative for the treatment of sleep-onset insomnia.
