Local nonprofit plans week-long STEM summit for teen girls :: WRAL.com

It can be difficult to find summer activities for teenagers. They’ve aged out of many traditional camp programs. So I wanted to share this.

Her Spark, a local nonprofit dedicated to equipping girls with STEM skills and opportunities, will host a virtual Summer Summit from July 12 to July 16 for girls who are in high school.

Participants will explore engineering, coding, technology and other STEM topics, enjoy “day in the life” experiences by connecting with professionals from Red Hat, Cisco, Eaton and Microsoft more, and learn how these skills can apply to different career paths, according to a description.

Participants must be at least 13 as of July 12, 2021 and in a public, private or homeschool high school program.

Tickets are $150 per student and are available until 5 p.m., June 18. Scholarships are available.

Check the Her Spark website for details.
